The AEV Radiator Skid Plate for 2024+ Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD is engineered for unparalleled protection in the most demanding environments. It integrates seamlessly with the AEV Front Bumper found on ZR2 Bison and AT4X AEV Edition trucks and shields the bottom of the radiator from damage. It is OEM-validated and manufactured out of 3mm thick stamped steel with e-coat and powder coat finish to match the front bumper.
Please Note: The AEV Radiator Skid Plate can only be installed with vehicles equipped with the AEV Front Bumper for 2024+ Chevrolet Silverado HD and 2024+ GMC Sierra HD.

- Why are these not hot-stamped like your other skid plates?
These skid plates are not hot-stamped due to the weight of these trucks. Boron does not come available in such thicknesses needed for the weight of these vehicles so we had to go with thicker, mild steel stampings. All skid plates feature extensive ribbing for strength/rigidity and the underbody skids all include reinforced holes to save weight and aid in cooling and drainage.
- I’ve heard horror stories of some aftermarket skid plates blocking off airflow or trapping debris. What makes AEV Skid Plates different?
The difference is in the development, testing and validation that goes into our skid plates. These are not aftermarket skid plates—these are OEM skid plates, developed alongside GM engineers specifically for the ZR2 Bison and AEV Edition programs. We had to follow the same protocols and were subject to all the same testing and validation procedures than any other OEM component would go through.
- Why not use aluminum instead of steel to save weight?
The heavier a vehicle gets, the less ideal aluminum gets for a skid plate material. A skid plate made out of aluminum would have to be VERY thick in order to match the strength of a stamped steel skid plate, especially on an HD truck.
- What kind of coating is used on the skid plates?
We use a multi-stage, automotive-grade E-coating process on all our skid plates.

- Can I install the radiator skid plate on my stock bumper for 2024+ Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD?
No, you must have the AEV Front Bumper for 2024+ Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD to install the Radiator Skid plate as the mounting points fitting to the bumper are different between the stock system and the AEV system.
- Why can’t I install this skid plate on my 2020-2023 model Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD?
Facia changes over this vehicle model have made AEV Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD front bumper installation not adequate for assembly. Without the AEV front bumper the AEV radiator Skid Plate will not fit.
