Anyone who is serious about off-road adventure knows that it is just a matter of time before their vehicle becomes seriously stuck. At these moments a winch is often the best tool to free the vehicle, but sometimes the load on the winch can be so severe that it actually exceeds its pulling capacity. This is the time when a Snatch Block is indispensable. With AEV’s snatch block, you can rig a double-line pull to effectively multiply the pulling power of your winch by two times and simultaneously slow down the line speed by half – making for a safer and more controlled vehicle recovery.
Key features of the AEV Recovery Snatch Block include a virtually bomb-proof ArmorGalv® coating, self-lubricating Oilite® bushing with a specialized polymer pulley, and an industry-first, inward-rolled eyelet for safe engagement with ropes and soft-shackles. The AEV Snatch Block can be used with BOTH a traditional steel cable or a synthetic winch line.
AEV is the first in the 4WD aftermarket to follow the commercial rigging industry by marking all of its recovery gear with not only the Minimum Breaking Strength (MBS), but also the Working Load Limit (WLL). Safety first!

Product FAQs
- What purpose does AEV's Snatch Block serve?
With AEV’s Snatch Block, you can rig a double-line pull to effectively multiply the pulling power of your winch by two times and simultaneously slow down the line speed by half – making for a safer and more controlled vehicle recovery.
- Is the AEV Snatch Block safe to use with soft shackles?
Great question, as many snatch blocks are not designed with soft shackles in mind. Yes, the AEV Snatch Block is safe to use with soft shackles. In fact, that is the primary reason we use an inward rolled eyelet on our side plates.
- How is the AEV snatch block manufactured?
Our Snatch Block is manufactured out of stamped steel with a specialized ArmorGalv® corrosion resistant coating.
- What is the load limit on the snatch block?
Our working load limit (WLL) is 13,000lbs but that takes into account our very generous safety factor as breaking strength is 52,000lbs.
