If you've had much experience with suspension lifts, you know that the ground clearance and wheel travel benefits they deliver on the trail can very often be offset by ride quality and directional control problems on the highway. This can lead to a vehicle that is something of a compromise to drive. In some cases the compromise can be so severe that the vehicle truly becomes unsafe, particularly during accident-avoidance maneuvers. At Nth Degree, years of OE suspension engineering experience have taught us that a compromise is completely unnecessary. By paying careful attention to front and rear spring frequencies, shock valve tuning and roll steer geometry, we know that a lifted vehicle can be engineered to perform brilliantly on the trail while remaining safe on the highway. COATINGS: AEV's Nth Degree Products Go From Gray to Black

Upon bringing Nth Degree into the AEV family of products, AEV evaluated the suspension line to determine where improvements could be made.  Aside from several mechanical refinements, AEV decided to change the coatings used on all Nth Degree steel components.  Though the traditional gray powder-coat used by Nth Degree was of a very high quality, AEV opted to go a step further by employing a 2-stage coating process that utilizes a zinc-rich powder primer under a polyester powder top coat.  This process is consistent with the way AEV coats its other steel products and it offers better corrosion resistance than a 1-stage process.  With this improvement it was also decided to change the color from gray to textured black, which matches the look of AEV's bumpers and corner guards. Above all, the new color will remind our informed customers that their AEV-manufactured Nth Degree suspension has the best paint finish in the industry.
